Joel Clement

Joel Clement, Program Officer for the Conservation Science Program, is an ecologist with a background in biodiversity studies and environmental policy. Prior to coming to the Foundation, Joel developed and contributed to research and conservation science programs in temperate and tropical ecosystems around the world, including Alaska, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Dominica, Madagascar, and the Pacific Northwest. He has been awarded support from the National Geographic Society for biodiversity field research in Chile and was featured in National Geographic Magazine for his field studies in North America. Eager to bridge the gaps between science, policy, and land management, Joel focuses his work on improving data-sharing capacity and supporting climate change adaptation strategies for Western ecosystems and human communities.
