I am a Climate Adaptation Fellow at The Nature Conservancy, and a Visiting Scholar at The Museum of Vertebrate Zoology, with applied interests in biogeography, climate change and conservation planning. My research background is focused on understanding the processes responsible for generating current patterns of biodiversity, as well as the risks and uncertainties associated with future climate change. Lately, I spend most of my time helping TNC develop a framework for how to incorporate climate change threats into conservation planning, in part using species distribution models, but I also have experience beyond arm-chair ecology, doing extensive fieldwork in terrestrial, marine and aquatic systems. Prior to joining TNC, I assessed vertebrate responses to climate change in Australian rainforests by integrating paleohabitat models, gene estimates of spatial population histories and field observations from community surveys.
