PAD-Aviation Data

The Protected Areas Database - Aviation (PAD-Aviation) was constructed with the US Air Force, other military branches, defense contractors and protected areas specialists. The dataset is freely availalbe for download in numerous formats (ESRI Shapefile, Shapefile formatted for FalconView and Google Earth .kml/.kmz).

Due to the large file size, download time may be significant. We recommend that you use at least an average  high speed internet connection (1.544 Mbps). At that connection speed, download time will be on average 1 hour (times will vary depending on speed and server load).

(Note the Google Earth .kml file is zipped as a .kmz - due to the large size of the Protected Areas Database - Aviation the national coverage has been broken up into four regions Hawaii & Alaska, Western, Central and Eastern)
