Data Basin

The latest update of Data Basin includes some minor bug fixes, but it also includes multiple enhancements to selecting features from datasets. You can now select features using a free-form polygon (or lasso) tool. You can also select features based on their attributes. In addition, you can select features based on whether or not they intersect with other items such as drawings, other datasets, or other selections. The short video attached to this post has some quick demonstrations of these new tools.

Who doesn’t like maps? Our director James Strittholt has said before that maps are a unifying object from which people can find common ground. You can take a group of people, spread out a map on the table and everyone will begin dreaming, talking and telling stories. Data Basin is not much different and, from the beginning, we have been thrilled by how much the community has taught us how it will be used.
